Custom Dyeing & Finishing
At Marsidian, we are set up to supply fabrics that are custom dyed and finished. There are many surface improvements we can do to the fabrics that will interest your clients. Since the customization varies from one fabric to another, we can undertake such projects only if the minimum order quantity is met. This can vary from 1000 yds to 10000 yds, depending on the complexity of the project. The list below by no means is complete, but it should give you a glimpse on what we can do. Blends
All our dyed stock programs are 100% Cotton woven fabric. However, we are set up to supply you the following as dyed and finished:
- Polyester – Cotton blends
- 100% Polyester – spun – greige and dyed up to 130”.
- 100% Polyester – filament – greige & dyed up to 130”
Some of the above items can be supplied with GRS Recycled certification as well. Also, if required, we can supply RPET (poly yarns spun from recycled plastic bottles) fabrics as well.

Sanforizing

Range Dyeing or CBD (Continuous Bleach Dyeing)
Range dyeing, also known as Continuous Bleach Dyeing (CBD), is the preferred method for large-scale fabric dyeing, particularly for orders of 5,000 yards or more. Unlike smaller batches dyed using jiggers, which may result in uneven color distribution—darker centers and lighter edges—range dyeing ensures consistent dye absorption across the entire fabric roll.
This process integrates multiple stages, including singeing, mercerizing, scouring, bleaching, and dyeing, within a single continuous production line. The fabric moves through the system in a continuous loop, allowing for uniform penetration of the dye. This eliminates shade variations and results in a more consistent and high-quality finish from the first roll to the last.
Due to its efficiency and ability to maintain color accuracy, range dyeing is the preferred choice for large textile manufacturers. While jigger dyeing may be suitable for smaller orders, it lacks the precision and scalability of the continuous dyeing process, making it less ideal for applications requiring high uniformity.

Sanding
Sanding is a specialized fabric finishing technique that enhances texture and softness. This process involves tumbling the fabric in a controlled environment using machines equipped with wire frames. Alternatively, fabrics may pass through heavy belts embedded with abrasive surfaces, similar to sanders fitted with emery paper.
Depending on the desired outcome, the fabric can undergo different levels of sanding. A light sanding results in a subtle nap, giving the fabric a smooth, velvety feel, while a more intensive sanding process creates a heavily brushed texture, similar to flannel or fleece. The treatment can be applied to one or both sides of the fabric, ensuring versatility in meeting specific application needs.
